Meaning
Unwise is the person, who repeats God’s name without knowing HIM; Unwise is the person, who depends upon his own deeds and efforts. Unwise is the person, who goes through painstaking self-punishment to realize God; And resists extreme cold, heat, hunger and keeps awake constantly, almost troubling himself to death. Unwise is the person, who wishes to swim through the vast ocean of birth and death by his own efforts. Unwise is the person, who maintains faith in rites and rituals, and takes pride only in virtues, thus admonishing vices (exhibiting his ego at the same time). The one who leaves aside all his wisdom and surrenders unto the shelter of a True Saint; Avtar says such a person receives the revelation of God in a subtle way.
